Tough Luv

"Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible -- it cannot be seen or measured, yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment, and offer you more joy than any material possession could."

-Barbara De Angelis

"Sports do not build character. They reveal it."

-John Wooden

"THE MAN WHO THINKS HE CAN: If you think you are beaten, you are. If you think you dare not, you don’t. If you’d like to win, but you think you can’t it is almost certain you won’t. If you think you’ll lose, you’ve lost. For out in the world you’ll find ‘success’ begins with a fellow’s will. It ‘s all in the state of mind. If you think you are outclassed, you are. You’ve got to think high to rise. You’ve got to be sure of yourself before you can ever win a prize. Life’s battles don’t always go to the stronger or faster man, but soon or late the man who wins is the man who thinks he can."

"The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure. These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur. "

-Vince Lombardi

"Life is like a grindstone - whether it grinds you down or polishes you up depends on what you're made of."

Quotes:

"Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence."

- Helen Keller

"Life is both alike and different from mountain climbing. Alike in that the climber is constantly struggling higher; different in that in life we never reach the top. In life we never arrive because we never run out of heights to climb. The moment we give up the struggle of the climb, we begin to fall back and die."

- Charles Allen

"To know God is to Live."

- Tolstoy

"No matter how bad yesterday may have been or today is, with God there is a good tomorrow ahead."

Quote of the Day:

"Life is simply time given to man to learn how to live. Mistakes are always part of learning. The real dignity of life consists in cultivating a fine attitude towards our own mistakes and those of others. It is the fine tolerance of a fine soul. Man becomes great, not through never making mistakes, but by profiting by those he does make; by being satisfied with a single rendition of a mistake not encoring it into a continuous performance; by getting from it the honey of new, regenerating inspiration with no irritating sting of morbid regret; by building a better today because of his poor yesterday; and by rising with renewed strength, finer purpose and freshened courage every time he falls."

- William George Jordan

Whoa, lots happened i guess since the last time i wrote something. Last weekend was valentines weekend, so for all those lovers out there , hope you enjoyed yourselves. Anyways, NBA All-Star weekend, wow, it sucked big time. Rookie game was pretty good, lots of nasty high-flying LeBron action. The All-Star game itself was also pretty decent, to bad the East couldn't pull out a win. Had a bunch of da guys over saturday nite for a little  boys nite and haircuts. Then Sunday went to work didn't go to the one thing with the other people, but i went to melanie's birthday party, that girl is to spoiled, but it was cool, wish her a happy birthday though that was awhile ago. then after that party glenn and jenny (glennifer), shadel, and josh came over to watch the game. monday, eh, played my crazy asian xbox all day, then went to work and bummed around afterwards. then tuesday which is today, well, went to Field Museum for World History, seriously, that was really gay, i would have rather stayed at school, Mr. Bandy has some serious problems, he needs to get over himself, so do some other kids at our little place of education known as HAA, but thats something i'm not gonna get into rite now. then we got back early cause he said we weren't focused enough, so we got back to school and i found out mr.garcia is getting laid off, big time bummer, he's a really good guy if you get to know him, i'm feeling really bad for him cause he has 2 kids and a wife and no income, so everyone just pray for them. then we had practice, that was okay i guess, uncle al wasn't there so it wasn't to much fun, to much nonsense talking. well, i'm feeling extremely stressed out, i wished i could just quit life, just be a loser all day, thats not a bad life. well, thats all for now i guess, gots a proof test to study for tomorrow ...and a biology test...and a debate...and a descriptive essay...and then some band performance for some vespers friday nite...whoa, my life sucks big time...oh well, just gotta remember to put everything into God's hands, peace out kids...

In building a firm foundation for success, here are a few stones to remember:

1. The wisdom of of preparation

2. The value of confidence.

3. The worth of honesty.

4. The privilege of working.

5. The discipline of struggle.

6. The magnetism of character.

7. The radiance of health.

8. The forcefulness of simplicity.

9. The winsomeness of courtesy.

10. The attractiveness of modesty.

11. The inspiration of cleanliness.

12. The satisfaction of serving.

13. The power of suggestion.

14. The buoyancy of enthusiasm.

15. The advantage of initiative.

16. The virtue of patience.

17. The rewards of cooperation.

18. The fruitfulness of perseverance.

19. The sportsmanship of losing.

20. The joy of winning.

They who lack talent expect things to happen without effort. They ascribe failure to a lack of inspiration or ability, or to misfortune, rather than to insufficient application. At the core of every true talent there is an awareness of the difficulties inherent in any achievement, and the confidence that by persistence and patience something worthwhile will be realized. Thus talent is a species of vigor.

Each one of us is the architect of his own fate; and he is unfortunate indeed who will try to build himself without the inspiration of God, without realizing that he grows from within, not from without. (Forget to say this during my sermon, so I'm saying it now)
